Realtor® Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF)

Since 1989, the REALTOR® Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF) has donated more than $400,000 through grants to agencies in our area who address the needs of the homeless and those at risk of being homeless.

Thanks to the St. Louis association of REALTORS absorbing all of the administration cost, RHAF is one of the few non-profit agencies that can guarantee that every dollar donated goes to local charities.

RHAF supported agencies provide:

  • Rental and mortgage subsidies for families in jeopardy of losing their home
  • Transitional housing for families experiencing an economic crisis
  • Transitional housing for women and children who are victims of domestic violence
  • Security Deposits and other initial expenses incurred when obtaining permanent housing
  • Rehabilitation of multi-family building into safe, livable units for the homeless
  • Job/skills training, education opportunities, parenting skill, and home management skills
  • Home repair for disabled and elderly individuals

Most importantly, RHAF recipients provide their clients with the intangibles that are integral to personal success: PRIDE, OPPORTUNITY, INDEPENDENCE AND HOPE.

Our commitment...

RHAF serves as a community catalyst-bringing together people and agencies that can help find solutions to today's homeless problems. Proceeds were raised through fundraising projects such as the Designers Showcase House, the Bill Cosby Show, The Grand Garage Sale and direct contributions.  Absolutely 100 percent of funds raised go directly to not-for -charities that support the homeless and the abused, and are 100 percent tax deductible.   This year, our 2006 grant requests totaled over $300,000. Fortunately we were able to allocate $100,000 to help some of the local charities, but sadly, the need was greater than the funds available and as a result, some people will not receive the support they need.

RHAF is committed to help end the plight of homelessness within in our communities.  With the support of friends and business partners, together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of many disadvantage families and individuals.  We hope that we can count on your support for this very worthy cause!
