REALTORŪ Housing Assistance Fund - Who we are...

In response to the growing concern in the region for our homeless and recognizing the natural link between that problem and the REALTORŪ profession, the St. Louis Association of REALTORSŪ created the REALTORŪ Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF). This special, not-for-profit corporation, established by the Association as a separate entity in 1989, was designed to serve as a vehicle to help meet the needs of homeless, as well as abused women and children. To date, REALTORSŪ, along with friends from the public, have raised more than $425, 000 in grant funding for area charities.

Our purpose….

  • Serve as an informed conduit for donations made by members of the St. Louis Association of REALTORS® to projects and organizations that benefit the homeless.
  • Raise funds and provide volunteers for the continued support of services, which address the needs of the homeless.
  • To work with other arms of the REALTOR® industry to further our purpose and cause initiate activities and projects to serve the homeless wherever a void in service exists.
  • Provide assistance to those in jeopardy of losing their homes so that they may keep those homes.
  • And, to ultimately provide permanent shelter for those who have none.

Our commitment...

RHAF serves as a community catalyst-bringing together people and agencies that can help find solutions to today's homeless problems. Proceeds were raised through fundraising projects such as the Designers Showcase House, the Bill Cosby Show, The Grand Garage Sale and direct contributions.  Absolutely 100 percent of funds raised go directly to not-for -charities that support the homeless and the abused, and are 100 percent tax deductible.   This year, our 2006 grant requests totaled over $300,000. Fortunately we were able to allocate $100,000 to help some of the local charities, but sadly, the need was greater than the funds available and as a result, some people will not receive the support they need.

RHAF is committed to help end the plight of homelessness within in our communities.  With the support of friends and business partners, together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of many disadvantage families and individuals.  We hope that we can count on your support for this very worthy cause!
